Elementary Band & Orchestra needs YOU!
Over 400 fifth graders from across our district have signed up this year, the highest participation we have ever had!

More than 200 of the students will use an instrument provided by the district. However, due to the record numbers this year, the program is completely out of full-size violins and percussion sets. If you know of anyone who has a new or gently used violin or percussion set they are willing to donate, please ask them to email Judy Heminger at hemingerjl@mukilteo.wednet.edu.

The band and orchestra programs are always accepting donations of new or gently used instruments, so please help us spread the word to your friends and family!

Lost & Found is FULL
Only 25 days of school and our lost and found is already full of coats and sweatshirts! Labeling your students items can help them find their way back to you. Our PTA has an easy fundraiser called Mabel's Labels. This is a great way to make sure that items don’t get mixed up or put in the lost & found forever.

To support our fundraiser, visit campaigns.mabelslabels.com and select "Columbia Elementary PTA 7-5-6 (Mukilteo).". You can pick out whatever labels or product you want, and it will ship for free directly to your house! Columbia receives 20% of every purchase. Thank you for supporting us!

If you aren't interested in doing labels please consider putting their names on items using a permanent marker.

Cougar Attendance Matters!
Did you know that just TWO absent days a month can make it harder for your student to stay on track? We care about your student's attendance! If you need support, please call us at (425) 366-2600. If your student is absent, please contact our 24 Hour attendance line at (425) 366-2605. Please include: Student First and Last Name, Date of absence, and Reason for absence. We will only return your call if we have questions.

Early Pick-Up
If your child will be leaving early, families/guardians need to send a note, email the teacher or call the office on the main line at 425-366-2600. (Avoid calling between 8:45-9:15 AM) Please do not leave a message on the attendance line. Please avoid picking up during their lunch, recess or time with specialists, as it may take extra time to retrieve your student. Only an authorized person may take a child from school. Any student being dismissed prior to the regular dismissal time must be met in the office and must be signed out by the parent/guardian or authorized person picking them up.

Pre-Arranged Absence
Any absence not specifically covered, such as family vacations or other extended absence, must have a Principal approved pre-arranged absence form in order to be excused. This form must be submitted to the school office one week prior to the scheduled absence.
