Middle School Students and Dismissal:
As a reminder, we are committed to ensuring a safe and orderly environment during dismissal at Columbia Elementary. Recently, we’ve noticed that some students from Harbour Pointe Middle School have been arriving on our campus before dismissal time, which has caused disruptions.
To address this, we are implementing the following guidelines:
  • Columbia Elementary is a closed campus before 3:25 p.m. (2:10 on Fridays)
  • Middle school students with siblings in kindergarten through third grade may come onto campus starting at 3:25 p.m.(2:10 on Fridays)  to pick up their younger siblings.
  • If your middle school child will be picking up a younger sibling, please complete our online form to provide the necessary information.
  • Middle school students who have NOT been registered by parents and are NOT picking up siblings in kindergarten through third grade may NOT come onto campus until 4:30 p.m.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and focused environment for our students. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.
Thank you for your understanding and support!

Your Voice Matters:
There is still time to register to vote! Oct. 28 is the last date to register to vote online or by mail. If you’ve moved, changed your last name or just arrived in the county, make sure you update your registration by Oct. 28. You can check your voter registration status on Snohomish County’s website.  *Note: 16 and 17-year-olds may pre-register but will not appear in the look-up system or receive a voter registration card until their 18th birthday.

Did we find it?
There are so many lost items here at school! Coats and sweatshirts that are just waiting to be reunited with your children. You are welcome to come after school and look for yourself. Sometimes grown-ups have better luck finding items than the kids do!

PTA events and opportunities
We have one week left in our Read-A-Thon! Please keep registering students, sharing with family/friends and logging reading minutes! Reading minutes can be logged until 11pm on 10/20/2024.
You can find more information on our PTA website or our Read-A-Thon website

Please join us for our Pajama Jam dance party on Thursday, October 17th from 6:30 to 8PM. Grown-ups need to attend with students, this is not a "drop and go" activity. We need volunteers for this event! Please sign up here to help out.

We're hosting a staff appreciation breakfast on Thursday, October 24th. Please sign up here to donate items for our staff!

Cougar Attendance Matters!
Did you know that just TWO absent days a month can make it harder for your student to stay on track? We care about your student's attendance! If you need support, please call us at (425) 366-2600. If your student is absent, please contact our 24 Hour attendance line at (425) 366-2605. Please include: Student First and Last Name, Date of absence, and Reason for absence. We will only return your call if we have questions.

Early Pick-Up
If your child will be leaving early, families/guardians need to send a note, email the teacher or call the office on the main line at 425-366-2600. (Avoid calling between 8:45-9:15 AM) Please do not leave a message on the attendance line. Please avoid picking up during their lunch, recess or time with specialists, as it may take extra time to retrieve your student. Only an authorized person may take a child from school. Any student being dismissed prior to the regular dismissal time must be met in the office and must be signed out by the parent/guardian or authorized person picking them up.

Pre-Arranged Absence
Any absence not specifically covered, such as family vacations or other extended absence, must have a Principal approved pre-arranged absence form in order to be excused. This form must be submitted to the school office one week prior to the scheduled absence.
