Moving to a New School?

If you are not returning to Columbia for the 2025-2026 school year, please notify our office as soon as possible at 425-366-2612 or send an email to Ana Sierra at sierraan@mukilteo.wednet.edu This allows us to make room for new students moving into our school and records can be sent to the new school.
 

SBA Testing in May:

Our 3rd-5th graders will be taking their Washington State Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) test in May and June. As much as possible, avoid scheduling appointments for these testing dates. Ensure your child arrives at school on time. Try to have your child get a good night’s rest and have your child eat a healthy breakfast.
3rd Grade:

5th Grade:

Choir, Band and Orchestra Concert at HP - May 22nd

Concert starts at 6:30pm on Thursday the 22nd
Band performers:
  • No after school rehearsal
  • Arrive between 5:45-6:00
  • Dress in "picture day" Best
Choir & Orchestra Performers:
  • Arrive at 5:45
  • For choir, skirts, dresses, slacks, unripped jeans, button ups and collared shirts are acceptable. 
  • Orchestra is black dresses, skirts, pants, and black or white shirt.
 

Save the Date! Beach Day - June 6th

Columbia Elementary's Beach Day will be on Friday, June 6th from 4pm - 7pm at Lighthouse Park.  Please RSVP so we can plan how much food to purchase. 
You can also sign up to bring snacks/drinks or volunteer to help here.

Beach Day Book Swap

Please join Columbia PTA for a Book Swap at Beach Day on June 6th! This is a fun opportunity for families (and staff) to share gently used books and find new books to read.  Bringing books is not required to participate!
  • What to bring:  New or gently used Children’s Books Appropriate for K-6 grade
  • What not to bring: Moldy, soiled, or torn books; Textbooks, manuals, Adult books, More than one bag/box of books 
If you have books to share, but can’t bring them to Beach Day, email Tran at secretary@mycolumbiapta.org Extra books will be donated to teachers or The Everett Assistance League- Operation School Bell

Poetry-By-Heart Winners

Thank you to the 50 students who memorized and recited poems for this year's Poetry-By-Heart Contest. All of the students did an outstanding job and should be proud of themselves! Here are the winners of this year's contest:

Kindergarten Registration:

Kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 school year is now open!

*If your child is already attending preschool in our district, you do not need to re-enroll. Teachers will notify parents with placement*
If you or someone you know has a child who will be five years old by Aug. 31, it’s time to register for kindergarten. Families can register online 24 hrs a day or in person at their neighborhood school between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Families who register students for kindergarten by June 28 will receive a free backpack and school supplies!
