National Hispanic Heritage Month:

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, a month-long celebration and recognition of the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success. 
 

5th Grade Band and Orchestra:

The Band and Orchestra Program will run this year from September 30th to June 5th. More information and registration forms can be found on our district website.

PTA Events and Opportunities:

9/23: Pizza Dine-Out Night. Take a night off cooking and dine-out to support Columbia Elementary PTA.  
9/25: PTA General Meeting, 6-7PM in the Columbia Library. Please join us for the first PTA meeting of the year! Learn more about PTA, upcoming volunteer opportunities, and meet other families. (Zoom link will be posted on the PTA Website ahead of the meeting).
9/26: Read-A-Thon Begins! Get ready- our biggest fundraiser of the year starts soon!

Columbia Elementary PTA invites students to participate in the Reflections Art Program! This year’s theme is, “I Belong.” Students can submit entries in one or all of the following categories: visual arts, literature, dance choreography, music composition, photography, and film. Entries can be submitted to teachers or placed in the Columbia PTA mailbox at school. Deadline for entries is November 13, 2025. More information can be found on our Reflections page.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Popcorn Friday Chairperson. Training is provided. In general, this is a fun activity and great way to meet other parents as you can socialize while preparing the popcorn. Email Tran if you would like to get involved.

25-26 School Pictures:

School pictures for all grades and staff will be taken on Wednesday, October 15th & Thursday, October 16th. A make up day will be scheduled later.

To order school pictures:
  • Click on this link to order
  • Parents can order for more than one student on the same order.
  • You will receive an email confirmation of your order. (if you do not, please reach out to us)
  • Photos will be delivered to school and sent home with each student.
  • PICTURE ORDERS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 17.

Kamiak Jr. Dance Camp:

Kamiak High School Dulcineas is hosting Junior Dance Camp Sept. 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Kamiak Commons. Students in grades K-8 are welcome! Cost to participate is $65 per dancer or $50 per dancer from the same family. Each dancer will receive a cute sweatshirt, snack, learn a fun football routine, lessons on dance techniques, a certificate and ribbon, and the chance to perform with the Dulcineas! To sign up, complete this Junior Dance Camp form
