Dear Columbia Families,

Columbia Elementary continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of our active and supportive PTA. Having worked in several schools, I can say with certainty that Columbia is truly fortunate—our PTA is strong, engaged, and supported by a broad base of parent volunteers. While many schools rely on just a few people to organize everything, Columbia benefits from many hands working together to support our students and staff.

Thank you to our PTA board, committee chairs, and countless volunteers. Your time, energy, creativity, and commitment make an incredible impact. You help create the welcoming, joyful environment that makes Columbia such a special place for children to learn and grow.

When parents volunteer, it strengthens our entire school community. Volunteers help build positive relationships, serve as role models, and contribute to better attendance, stronger academics, improved social skills, and an overall sense of belonging for students. Your presence sends a powerful message that education matters and that Columbia is a community that supports one another.

Each spring, our PTA elects its new board and fills committee roles for the following school year. For the 2026–2027 school year, our current openings include:
  • President (or Co-Presidents)
  • Vice President
  • Website Administrator
  • Committee Chairs:
  • Popcorn Friday
  • STEAM Night
  • Multicultural Night

If you are interested in learning more or would like to get involved, please reach out to Tran at president@mycolumbiapta.org.

The programs, events, and traditions we enjoy each year depend on volunteer power. Some roles are short-term, others span the year—but all are important, and all make a difference. If you are considering a way to support our school community, this is a wonderful opportunity.

Thank you for taking the time to consider serving. It is meaningful, rewarding work, and together we can continue to make Columbia a fantastic place for every student.

Best regards,
Mr. Denton
