Family Engagement Center Community Celebration!
Each week, 375 bags of food are distributed to elementary and middle school students in our district, thanks to our Family Engagement Liaisons (FELs). At the high school level, students can visit pantry spaces designed to feel like a store, where they can choose free food and essential items with dignity and care. This important work is made possible through generous community donations and the dedication of our FELs, who support families in meaningful, everyday ways.
We invite you to see this work in action at our Family Engagement Center (FEC) Community Celebration and Open House on Wednesday, April 29 from 5–7 p.m.
Come explore the FEC, meet community partners, and learn about the many resources available to support students and families. This is a great opportunity to connect, ask questions, and discover how the FEC serves our families.
Guests will enjoy light refreshments and can enter to win door prizes, including a baby supplies basket, family game night basket, and emergency kit. Youth attendees can receive free books and bus passes. Families are also welcome to make an appointment during the event to “shop” with community partners at the FEC for free clothing and food in a welcoming, supportive environment.

We hope you will join us for this special evening of connection, celebration, and community!

Student Placement Input:

Here at Columbia we carefully assign students to classes considering academic, behavior and social needs. This is a team effort and each team makes it a priority to place your child with a teacher who best fits your child’s learning style and needs. If you would like to provide input to this process, an online parental input form is available. Please know that we cannot accommodate requests for specific teachers. Completing the form is optional. Submissions are due by Friday, May 1st.

Keep in mind, your child’s current teacher will receive this input and present it to the placement team. Please click the link here and use this form only. Please avoid letters, calls or emails for placement purposes. If you need help with the form please email Taressa in our front office:
